Fiery Red: Lotus Flower
What is it?
Is it Liuli?
Is it a flower?
The butterflies and birds
Share a graceful dance,
Lost within this early bloom
They can no longer tell the difference
Between flower and Lliuli.
莲红
是谁?
是琉璃?
是花?
在春将到未到之际
如此灿烂地
共舞
让鸟和蝴蝶
迷失了方向
不知道是花是琉璃
Design Concept
The lotus flower isn’t typically red when depicted in popular culture. But here, in this artistic interpretation from the collection “Flower Of The Earth,” it is—and it indeed nods its head to the sacred significance of the flower in Far East culture. LIULI studio artists, moved by the gravity-defying resilience of such a humble flower that rises from the mud, attributed the most resilient and passionate color available to them in glass form—fiery red. While the purity of the lotus in spiritual texts is unquestionable, so is its determination and passion. The realness of the liuli medium adds to this depth, bringing to life the two-piece artwork that lends hope to anyone who can appreciate the personality of this sacred lifeform.
