Design Concept
The Wind Horse of Excelsior — where leadership meets determination.
From a distance, the steed appears vividly lifelike—its entire body tensed in forward motion, speed so great that its mane streams backward in the rush of air. The composition is pure and vast, with no foreground or background, only boundless space and an unwavering direction forward, embodying the essence of leadership: vision unconfined and determination unbroken. Up close, a remarkable detail emerges within the flowing mane—eight smaller horses galloping in unison, symbols of strength extended, spirit multiplied, and unity in motion. This is not a solitary charge but the posture of a leader who inspires and carries others toward a shared horizon.
The horse’s dynamic pose reveals both grace and discipline, its lifted forelegs and grounded hindquarters expressing power balanced by precision—an image of belief strong enough to overcome all resistance. Technically, Excelsior pushes the limits of liuli artistry, confronting the physical challenges of large-scale balance, the delicate precision of pâte de verre, the high-risk refinement of polishing, and the intricate fusion of gold leaf with translucent glass.
