Design Concept
Having a loving family is a blessing, not a given. This artwork presents the moment of family: a mama pig and nine piglets encircle each other in play and with joy. The number “nine” (pronounce in “jiu” in Mandarin) means longevity and everlasting love. With Hundred Children (百子圖), a popular painting theme in Chinese culture, in mind, this artwork crafts an alternative version of the same wish for fertility and abundance.
