Design Concept

The artwork is an epitome of literati aesthetics, depicting the “Three Friends of Winter”, plum and bamboo embellished with lively birds, creating a vivid and vivacious composition. The openwork passages articulate the interplay of yin and yang, while the outer contours subtly echo the astral notion of a round heaven.

Plum blossoms bloom in the cold, denoting resilience, purity, and new life. Bamboo, hollow and segmented, represents humility and virtue. The white-eye bird, lively and delicate, signifies joy and a delight in togetherness.
