Design Concept
The work is concealed within a silent metamorphosis: the tree grows ever upward, ever higher, until it transforms into a cloud. Two camellias unfurl on the same limb. Their petals unfold as they lean gently toward one another. The camellia does not vie for spring; it blossoms in late winter, at the threshold of spring. Though other flowers are still hesitating, it has already made its choice.
The camellias share the same resolve: if I bloom, you bloom too; together we will navigate this season poised between cold and warmth. The branch is both support and pathway. It sprouts upward from its roots, traversing flowers and leaves, until it suddenly softens at one end, curling into fluffy mist. The instant the tree transfigures to a puff, what belonged to the earthly realm becomes celestial.
The overall composition of the work is inspired by the “Ruyi” (a traditional Chinese scepter symbolizing good fortune). Ruyi means “as one’s heart desires”. It has matured of its own volition, nourished by the spiritual essence of the cosmos. While the flora thrive, the branch quietly changes into a cloud, and the shape of the Ruyi naturally emerges. No seeking necessary, it comes into being by itself. This is the beautiful world of “Mutual Correspondence”.
The three liuli beads are mementoes of growth. Like time-capsules, they preserve the traces left by the passing of time.
作品的意象，藏在一次无声的转化里，枝幹向上生长，越长越高，化成了云。
两朵山茶花，开在同一根枝条上。花瓣舒展，彼此依偎。山茶不爭春，它在冬末春初开，在別的花还猶豫的时候，它已经下了決心。两朵山茶，相同的決定——我开，你也开，一起走过這段冷与暖之间的时光。
枝幹是承托，也是道路。它从根部一路向上，走过了花，走過了叶，走到顶端忽然柔软，捲曲成云的形狀。枝幹转变成云的那一刻，人间的就变成天上的了。
作品整体的造型取自「如意」的概念。如意，是「如心所願」——而這件如意是吸收天地灵气后，自己生长出來的。两朵花开了，枝幹化云了，如意的形狀自然就呈现了。不用索求，自然而然的，它就是「倆倆相对」的好世界。
三颗琉璃珠是生长的纪念，如三个时间膠囊，记录时间走过，留下的痕跡。
