Design Concept
Butterflies have always been regarded as the fairies of flowers in people’s hearts, celebrated for their beautiful colors and graceful flight. They are also often seen as symbols of the pursuit of freedom and love.
In this artwork, the paired butterflies resemble the protagonists of The Butterfly Lovers (Liang Zhu), who stay together forever in sweet companionship. In Chinese culture, butterflies are also affectionately called “Fu Die” (fortune butterflies), symbolizing blessings and good fortune.
Below them are paired pumpkins, also known as “golden melons,” which carry the meaning of attracting wealth. Gourds are further associated with abundance and fertility (“many seeds”), conveying wishes for the recipient to be blessed with many children, descendants, and happiness. The curling pumpkin vines form the shape of ruyi (a traditional symbol of fulfillment), expressing the hope that the recipient’s life will be smooth and auspicious.
蝴蝶在人们的心中，总是花仙子的象征，以美丽的色彩和优美的飞舞姿态著称。蝴蝶亦常成为追求自由与爱情的象征。
作品上成双的蝴蝶就像梁祝中的男女主角，永远永远的在一起，多么的甜蜜。而蝴蝶在中国人口中亦成说成“福蝶”，也是福的象征。
下方亦是成对的南瓜，又称为金瓜，具有招财含义；瓜类亦多有"多产(多籽)"的寓意，在此祝福收礼者多子多孙多福气，
且金瓜的藤蔓鬈曲成如意状，更希望能祝福收礼者顺心如意。
