Burst Forth
Water holds no fixed form
but is shaped by force.
A circle sets the bounds as
Qi tumbles and streams.
Whirling unabated
from within to without,
Life gathers in the hush
Upon the waves, as if fish leap;
One movement, one answer
All find ease as they are.
Design Concept
The artwork’s design is bounded by a sphere, within which fluid lines whirl into a vortex. From below, a swell begins to rise, curving in arcs before surging upward, creating a vitality that transitions “from ease to action, from within to without.” The crests of the waves resemble leaping fish, brimming with exuberance.
The highest virtue is to live like water: to nourish without striving and to adapt without resistance. Water itself exemplifies the dynamic conservation of Taichi. Fish and water are interdependent, illustrating the harmonious way of “following the natural order” and coexisting with all things.
